What do I need to do before ordering my live creatures? Make sure that you have all of the necessary supplies for your habitat. Make sure that you have the instruction manual for your habitat. If you do not, please contact us us.
Here is some specific information about your habitat.
| Ants: | Make sure you have all necessary materials for your Ant Farm®, including sand and instructions. You will not need to set up your Ant Farm® until your ants arrive. | | Tadpoles: | Make sure you have bottled spring water (room temperature) on hand. You will not need to set up the frog habitat until your tadpoles arrive. |
If you have an outdoor mailbox that is exposed to extreme heat or cold, please arrange with your postman to have your shipment of live creatures placed in a covered area near your front door. Bring it inside as soon as possible. It is safest to have the shipment sent to an address where it will be delivered indoors or to a post office box. _________________________________________
How many live creatures can I order at a time? The following table lists the maximum quantities of live creatures that can be ordered online at one time.

Can I redeem my live creature coupon online? At this time, creature coupons can only be redeemed by mailing them in to us. _________________________________________
What type of ants do you provide? The type of ant we provide is the Western Harvester. Their scientific name is Pogonomyrmex occidentalis. This species is native to the western deserts of the United States. (They are NOT fire ants.)
We provide worker ants only, which do not breed. We do not provide queen ants. Harvester ants are best suited for Ant Farms® because they are great “tunnelers” and they work in daylight.
IMPORTANT: Adult supervision is recommended in setting up and maintaining your Ant Farm®. Please follow the instructions provided with your ants and Ant Farm®. Harvester ants can bite or sting to protect themselves if touched or handled directly. If you know you are allergic or hypersensitive to insect bites or stings, extra caution should be taken in setting up and maintaining your Ant Farm®. _________________________________________
What type of frog tadpoles do you provide? The type of tadpole we provide is the Leopard Frog tadpole. Their scientific name is Rana pipiens. This species is native to most of North America.
We captive-breed our own frogs and we make sure that the tadpoles are clean and healthy. We nurture the tadpoles until they are almost ready to metamorphose. This process allows the tadpoles to be stronger, so they can withstand the trip through the mail. Also, you will not have to wait the usual three months for the tadpole to complete its metamorphosis into a frog.
We do not recommend capturing your own frogs from the wild. A wild frog taken from its natural habitat may never get used to its new environment.
The vast majority of tadpoles go on to develop into adult frogs. Occasionally, a tadpole will not metamorphose, but will just remain a tadpole. _________________________________________

When will my order be shipped? We make every effort to ship your creatures within 2-4 weeks of receipt of your online order. Shipment may be delayed due to weather conditions in your area (see below).

When do you ship live creatures? We ship live creatures year 'round. When the temperatures fall below 40 degrees F at night or above 80 degrees F during the day it becomes unsafe to ship your creatures. Your order will remain in our system and will ship as soon as temperatures allow.

How will my order be shipped? All orders are shipped via priority mail within the US and USPS Air Mail outside the US. UPS 2-Day or Next Day shipping is available (within the US) at an additional, non-refundable fee. _________________________________________
What if there is a problem with my order? If there is a problem with your order, or if your live creatures arrive in less than satisfactory condition, please contact us within 72 hours by calling us at 1-888-742-2484 or emailing info@unclemilton.com. Please provide the following information:- Name

- Date shipment was received
- Detailed description of shipment problems
- Any other pertinent information

Do you accept school purchase orders? We accept purchase orders by mail or fax only. Phone or online purchase orders are not accepted. Purchase order must be printed on school purchase order form and signed by a billing authorization official. Purchase order must be a minimum of $50. _________________________________________
